Built in the 19th century and surrounded by mysterious paths, walls, and ancient trees, Ahrenfels Castle embodies a unique blend of dignity, mysticism, and adventure. In the evening, the grounds are transformed into a glowing backdrop of fire, music, and voices—perfect for concerts, fire shows, and celebrating together late into the night.
Arrival by car
Easily accessible by car via the B42 Parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.
Arrival by train
Bad Hönningen train station, approx. 10 minutes drive to the castle.
Overnight stay
There are various options available for visitors in the surrounding area: hotels and guesthouses in Bad Hönningen and Rheinbrohl; tent and camping areas (limited spaces, advance booking required!), as well as parking spaces for camping vehicles.

Perched high above the Rhine and surrounded by the vineyards of Bad Hönningen, Arenfels Castle offers a wonderful view of the Middle Rhine Valley. The Rheinsteig trail and many other hiking trails start right outside the castle walls—it’s like being right in the middle of The Witcher universe.
